I’m thrilled to share that our proposed research, “The Impact of Iron Supplementation on Reducing Blood Lead Levels and Cognitive Impairment in Children in the Punjab region of Pakistan”, was shortlisted for the Center for Global Development (CGD) lead poisoning grant.

This future study aims to explore how iron supplementation could reduce blood lead levels and support cognitive development in children exposed to high environmental lead. The project has been recognized for its potential to generate actionable evidence for scalable interventions that could improve the health and wellbeing of vulnerable communities.

Being shortlisted is an encouraging acknowledgment of the importance of this work, and I look forward to advancing this research in the future to tackle lead exposure in children in Pakistan.
